A note from our Founder
Hello and welcome,
My name is Karla Dann, and I’m the Founder of Dann Growth & Independence. I’m a wife, a mum to a beautiful 6-year-old, and a proud step-mum to six amazing children, as well as a step-grandmother to three gorgeous grandchildren. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and it heavily influences the way I approach my work—grounded, compassionate, and deeply people-focused.
Professionally, I bring more than two decades of experience across the human services sector, including aged care, disability, NDIS, mental health, community services, leadership and compliance.
Throughout my career, I’ve led high-performing teams, built new services, improved operational systems, and supported thousands of individuals and families to access safe, high-quality and person-centred support.
My strengths lie in capacity building, life skills development, mentoring, service delivery design, compliance, auditing, risk management and participant-led practice. But just as importantly, I bring warmth, patience and genuine care. I understand the challenges individuals and families face, and I know how important respectful, reliable and empowering support can be.
Why I Started Dann Growth & Independence
Dann Growth & Independence was created from both personal passion and professional insight.
Working across so many areas of the NDIS and aged care sector, I repeatedly saw a gap in services—people were going without the quality support, consistency and personalised attention they truly needed.
Many individuals weren’t being given the time, tools or human connection required to build confidence and independence. I knew that with the right approach, people could achieve so much more.
I started this business to bring support back to what it should be: personal, meaningful, flexible and genuinely goal-driven.
After years in senior leadership roles, I realised what I loved most wasn’t the corporate side—it was the hands-on work with people. The moments of growth, the breakthroughs in daily life, the small wins that build into big ones.
Dann Growth & Independence allows me to step back into that purpose. It lets me use everything I’ve learned—professionally and personally—to help people feel safe, supported and capable of achieving their goals.
This business is my heart project. It exists to fill the gaps, raise the standard, and offer support that is not only high quality, but human.
